Advances in Healthcare Research (AHR) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal owned and published by Yayasan Pendidikan Bukhari Dwi Muslim. AHR applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) only to accepted manuscripts that meet the applicable institutional-affiliation criteria.
No APC is payable during manuscript submission, initial editorial screening, independent peer review, author revision, post-revision verification, or any other pre-acceptance evaluation stage.
APC or waiver administration begins only after the manuscript has completed its required scientific-editorial evaluation and received a final editorial decision of acceptance. Payment arrangements and waiver verification are administrative matters that remain separate from independent scholarly evaluation and editorial decision-making.
APC revenue supports journal operations, including manuscript management, editorial administration, copyediting, proofreading, production, digital publication, DOI-related processing, scholarly metadata preparation, website maintenance, archiving, and research dissemination. APC revenue does not confer any academic editorial advantage or influence the scientific assessment of manuscripts.
Standard APC — IDR 500,000: For an accepted manuscript where at least one author is institutionally affiliated with an institution in Indonesia, the standard AHR Article Processing Charge is IDR 500,000 per accepted manuscript.
Full APC Waiver — IDR 0: Where all authors are institutionally affiliated exclusively with institutions outside Indonesia, the accepted manuscript receives a full APC waiver. A separate waiver application is not normally required once the relevant institutional affiliations have been verified by the AHR Editorial Office.
Affiliation-Based Eligibility: APC and waiver eligibility are determined by institutional affiliation rather than nationality, citizenship, country of birth, residence, passport, or another personal characteristic. Manuscripts involving a combination of Indonesian and non-Indonesian institutional affiliations are subject to the standard APC when at least one author has an institutional affiliation in Indonesia.
The Editorial Office may verify institutional affiliations declared in the manuscript's separate Title Page & Author Information Form, OJS submission metadata, and other relevant author records before finalizing APC or waiver administration. Eligibility is assessed consistently under the applicable AHR policy.
APC Transparency: The standardized AHR APC is IDR 500,000 for accepted manuscripts meeting the Indonesian institutional-affiliation criteria. Previously issued official invoices, agreed payment terms, and valid historical financial-administration records are not changed retroactively merely because the current policy differs from an earlier arrangement.
AHR does not charge a separate mandatory submission fee, pre-review processing fee, peer-review fee, page charge, color-figure charge, mandatory language-editing fee, or withdrawal fee under the standardized APC framework.
Authors are not required to make any payment as a condition for manuscript submission, initial screening, reviewer assignment, independent peer review, author revision, post-revision scientific evaluation, or final editorial acceptance.
Language editing, proofreading, formatting, consulting, editorial assistance, or similar external services are not mandatory purchases for authors. Any privately arranged optional service must remain separate from AHR's independent editorial assessment and must not be represented as providing guaranteed acceptance, favorable peer review, or publication.
Single APC Principle: For manuscripts governed by this standardized policy, the applicable IDR 500,000 charge constitutes the standard journal APC. It must not be supplemented by a separate mandatory pre-review processing charge or an additional publication fee for the same manuscript.
APC payment, ability to pay, non-payment before an APC becomes due, waiver eligibility, or waiver status does not influence editorial screening, reviewer selection, independent peer review, reviewer recommendations, revision requirements, post-revision scientific verification, editorial evaluation, acceptance, or rejection.
Payment does not purchase manuscript acceptance, favorable reviewer recommendations, editorial preference, expedited scientific evaluation, issue assignment, DOI registration, or guaranteed publication. Scientific-editorial decisions remain under the authority of the responsible academic editors in accordance with the journal's Aims & Scope, scientific and research-integrity requirements, independent peer-review procedures, and publication policies.
AHR applies double-anonymous peer review. Manuscripts proceeding to external review are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with appropriate scientific, healthcare, clinical, theoretical, or methodological expertise. Reviewer recommendations are advisory, and final academic editorial responsibility remains with the authorized academic editor.
The same scientific requirements, accepted manuscript types, methodological or review-methodological standards, research-integrity expectations, healthcare research-ethics requirements, peer-review criteria, and editorial decision procedures apply to all manuscripts regardless of whether the standard APC is payable or a full waiver is granted.
After final scientific-editorial acceptance, the AHR Editorial Office verifies the manuscript's APC or waiver status according to the authors' institutional affiliations.
For Manuscripts Subject to APC: The corresponding author receives an official AHR invoice stating the applicable charge, authorized payment instructions, and relevant administrative information. Payment is requested only after final editorial acceptance and issuance of the official invoice.
For Manuscripts Receiving a Full Waiver: The Editorial Office verifies the qualifying institutional affiliations and records the approved waiver. Following verification, the manuscript proceeds through the applicable post-acceptance workflow without an APC payment requirement.
For manuscripts subject to the standard APC, copyediting, production, and final publication proceed after the required administrative verification and payment confirmation. Manuscripts receiving a full waiver undergo the same publication-quality requirements.
APC-related correspondence, invoice administration, payment confirmation, and waiver verification remain administrative responsibilities. These procedures do not replace, determine, or reopen the scientific-editorial acceptance decision. Material research-integrity, clinical, ethical, legal, or publication concerns identified after acceptance must be referred to the responsible academic editor.
The normal AHR scientific-editorial and publication process is Submission → Editorial Screening → Independent Peer Review → Revision → Post-Revision Verification → Final Editorial Acceptance → APC or Waiver Verification → Post-Acceptance Administration → Copyediting → Proofreading & Production → Metadata Verification → Version of Record → Online Publication.
Post-acceptance administration prepares an already accepted manuscript for accurate, ethical, and technically reliable scientific publication. It does not replace independent peer review or constitute a continuation of ordinary scientific evaluation.
Scientifically resolved matters should be reopened only when a genuine scientific-integrity, healthcare research-ethics, legal, authorship, metadata, or publication blocker requires appropriate academic editorial attention.
Where a formal Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is issued, it follows the final scientific-editorial acceptance decision. APC payment, invoice issuance, payment verification, or waiver status does not create, purchase, or independently determine acceptance.
APC payment does not independently determine manuscript issue assignment, DOI registration date, publication date, production priority, or publication timing. These matters remain subject to applicable editorial and production requirements, metadata verification, publication readiness, and the journal's official publication schedule.
Final editorial acceptance does not eliminate the need to complete applicable post-acceptance administrative and production requirements. Formal publication occurs only after the required publication workflow has been completed.
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript under consideration by formally contacting the AHR Editorial Office. A manuscript should not be submitted to another journal while it remains under consideration by AHR. Authors should obtain formal confirmation that the manuscript is no longer under consideration before submitting it elsewhere.
Before APC Payment: Under the standardized policy, no APC or separate withdrawal fee is payable before final editorial acceptance. Withdrawal requests are handled through appropriate editorial and administrative procedures and documented in the manuscript's official editorial record.
After APC Payment: Once payment has been verified and substantive post-acceptance publication services have commenced, including copyediting, proofreading, production, DOI-related processing, or metadata preparation, the APC is normally non-refundable, subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the case.
Payment Errors & Exceptional Circumstances: Duplicate payments, overpayments, demonstrable payment errors, or journal-attributable administrative problems that prevent publication are reviewed individually by the AHR Editorial Office. Authors should provide the relevant official invoice, payment confirmation, and supporting correspondence where appropriate.
Previously Agreed Arrangements: Legitimate payments and officially agreed financial terms established under an earlier applicable policy remain subject to their documented terms and relevant law. Any prior payment must be reconciled against the applicable manuscript account to avoid an unauthorized duplicate charge.
Withdrawal of an unpublished manuscript is distinct from retraction of a formally published article. Once an article has been published, corrections, Expressions of Concern, retractions, and related post-publication actions are governed by the journal's publication-ethics policies.
Official Payment Instructions Required: Authors should use only payment instructions contained in an official AHR invoice issued after final scientific-editorial acceptance. The invoice must identify the accepted manuscript and the applicable authorized payment arrangements.
AHR does not recognize unauthorized intermediaries, unofficial representatives, unverified payment accounts, or third-party claims that payment can guarantee manuscript acceptance, favorable peer review, publication, indexing, or another editorial outcome.
Bank-account and payment-account details are not published openly on this page. Authorized payment information is provided directly to the corresponding author through the official post-acceptance invoicing process.
Authors who receive suspicious payment requests, requests for advance payment, unofficial bank-account instructions, or conflicting invoice information should seek verification directly from the AHR Editorial Office before transferring funds.
Authors are encouraged to retain official invoices, payment confirmations, and relevant administrative correspondence. APC-related financial administration must remain distinct from academic editorial assessment and independent scientific decision-making.
The standardized AHR APC framework governs eligible manuscripts in accordance with the journal's formally adopted and published policy. The journal applies its current APC and waiver arrangements consistently, transparently, and independently of scientific-editorial evaluation.
Previously issued official invoices, validly agreed payment terms, documented payments, approved waivers, legitimate historical financial records, and completed editorial decisions are not retrospectively altered merely to conform to a subsequently adopted APC framework.
Where an existing manuscript is subject to a documented earlier financial arrangement, the Editorial Office should verify its applicable terms, any payments already made, and outstanding administrative obligations. A revised public APC rate must not result in undisclosed additional charges, unauthorized duplicate collection, or retrospective modification of a valid agreement.
The integrity of historical author correspondence, manuscript records, invoicing information, legitimate editorial decisions, and established publication records must remain protected. Any necessary corrections should be documented transparently through the appropriate journal procedures.
