Research and Education Development (READ) Institute is a non-profit organization founded in 2011, by lecturers faculty of education from several universities, and colleges in South Sulawesi (based on the deed of establishment No. 06 February 08, 2011, issued by notary Ina Kartika Sari S.H. - Decree of the Minister of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number C-58.HT.03.01 of 2003).
At that time, READ Institute aimed to bridge the publications of teachers and developing an academic culture in South Sulawesi. In 2020, READ Institute try to expand service in the field of education by publishing a journal that is able to accommodate the work of educators from all over the world, especially those in the Asian continent, the majority of which are developing countries.
Starting from this, the Research and Education Development (READ) Institute wishes to advance the development of education and in accordance with the sustainable development goals of the UN specifically:

Mobilizing resources and implementing innovative and context-appropriate solutions to provide education remotely, leveraging hi-tech, low-tech, and no-tech approaches;

Seek equitable education solutions and universal access;
- Facilitate the return of students to school when they reopen to avoid an upsurge in dropout rates.
In the research and publication sector, READ Institute made full collaborating with the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training of IAIN Palopo as the main journal society to handled and publish research work, and also cooperate with other associations, providing a platform that welcomes and acknowledges high-quality original papers about education written by researchers, academicians, professionals, and practitioners over the world.
