Advances in Community Services Research (ACSR) maintains two OJS editorial sections. The Article section accepts two manuscript types only: Research Paper and Literature Review Paper. A Research Paper reports original empirical or otherwise systematically designed research using defensible methods appropriate to the research question. A Literature Review Paper provides rigorous scholarly synthesis using an explicitly identified and sufficiently transparent review approach.

The Community Partnerships and Impacts section accepts Community Service Article manuscripts documenting community engagement, service implementation, institutional partnerships, program evaluation, and community outcomes. Each section uses its designated manuscript template and review form. ACSR accepts submissions in English only.

ACSR applies double-anonymous peer review. Manuscripts that pass editorial screening are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the submitted work. The normal editorial pathway is Submission → Editorial Screening → Independent Peer Review → Revision → Post-Revision Verification → Final Editorial Decision.

Research Paper and Literature Review Paper manuscripts are assessed using the standard scholarly review form, while Community Service Article manuscripts are assessed using the dedicated 11-component Community Partnerships and Impacts review form. Reviewer recommendations are advisory, while final scientific-editorial responsibility remains with the responsible academic editor and, where applicable, the Editor-in-Chief.

ACSR publishes one volume annually with exactly two regular numbered issues. The established publication periods are Issue No. 1: September–February and Issue No. 2: March–August.

Both the Article and Community Partnerships and Impacts sections follow the same journal publication schedule. Previously published issues retain their original issue numbers, actual publication dates, DOI records, and valid bibliographic metadata.

ACSR provides immediate Open Access to published articles without an embargo. Authors retain copyright, and published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

For an accepted manuscript with at least one author institutionally affiliated in Indonesia, the standard APC is IDR 750,000. Manuscripts whose authors are all institutionally affiliated exclusively outside Indonesia receive a full APC waiver / IDR 0. Eligibility is determined by institutional affiliation rather than nationality, citizenship, or residence.

No APC is payable before final editorial acceptance. Eligible reviewers who agree to assess manuscripts may receive a 10% discount on the applicable APC, subject to the journal's reviewer-recognition policy. APC payment, waiver eligibility, and reviewer recognition do not influence independent editorial decisions. Previously agreed official payment terms are not changed retroactively.

Authors must prepare manuscripts in English using the official template for their selected OJS section. Research Paper and Literature Review Paper manuscripts in the Article section must use the current Advances in Research Master Manuscript Template. Manuscripts submitted to Community Partnerships and Impacts must use the separate New ACSR Template Submission for Community Service Articles.

Authors must submit two separate files: (1) a Blinded Manuscript and (2) a Title Page & Author Information Form. The blinded manuscript must not contain author-identifying information. The Title Page contains verified author and publication information, including applicable CRediT contributions, funding, conflicts of interest, ethics declarations, and other required information. The corresponding author's ORCID iD is mandatory.

Before submitting, authors should confirm that their manuscript falls within the current ACSR Aims & Scope, select the appropriate OJS editorial section and manuscript type, use the designated manuscript template, prepare the blinded manuscript and separate Title Page, verify citations and references, and review the journal's publication-ethics, peer-review, Open Access, licensing, privacy, and APC policies. Formal manuscripts and revisions must be submitted through the official ACSR Online Journal System (OJS).
