Indexing, Discovery & Recognition

Advances in Applied Accounting Research (AAAR) is represented across scholarly services supporting national scholarly discovery, article-level citation visibility, persistent identification, bibliographic metadata registration, international serial identification, and the dissemination of accounting-related scholarly research.

AAAR seeks to maintain accurate, accessible, consistent, and discoverable information about its published scholarly work across relevant academic platforms. The journal recognizes that different services perform distinct functions and that the presence of a journal or article record in one service does not automatically establish equivalent coverage or recognition in another.

Indexing Transparency Principle: AAAR distinguishes clearly between national accreditation, national scholarly indexing, research discovery, citation visibility, DOI registration, international journal identification, professional association relationships, and formal source-journal indexing in selective databases. Each status is described according to the relevant service's actual function and verifiable coverage.

National Accreditation

SINTA — Science and Technology Index is Indonesia's national scholarly information platform supporting journal-accreditation information, research visibility, and academic performance indicators. National journal accreditation is distinct from national scholarly discovery, article-level citation visibility, international serial identification, DOI registration, and formal source-journal indexing in international selective databases.

Accreditation Verification: AAAR reports a specific SINTA accreditation classification only when that status can be confirmed through an authoritative journal-level SINTA record or other applicable official accreditation documentation. The presence of AAAR publications in GARUDA, Google Scholar, Crossref, or another research-information system does not independently establish a particular SINTA accreditation rank.

Accreditation information should be interpreted according to the journal's official classification, recognized coverage period, effective accreditation documentation, and applicable national requirements. Journal accreditation must not be inferred from the accreditation of another journal, an author's institutional affiliation, individual article citations, or an unrelated scholarly profile.

When AAAR's national accreditation classification and relevant coverage have been confirmed through an official record, the journal may update this section with the verified classification and appropriate supporting link. Accreditation claims must accurately reflect the status and publication periods covered by the authoritative documentation.

Indexing & Scholarly Discovery

AAAR journal and article information is represented in scholarly services supporting research discovery, bibliographic access, national scholarly indexing, citation visibility, international serial identification, and the dissemination of published research. The following services are described according to their respective functions rather than being treated as interchangeable forms of formal source-journal indexing.

GARUDA — Garba Rujukan Digital: GARUDA provides national scholarly indexing and discovery for research publications in Indonesia. AAAR has an identifiable journal record in GARUDA, with journal identification number 35863, supporting the discovery of published accounting-related research and associated scholarly metadata through Indonesia's national platform.

Google Scholar: Google Scholar supports scholarly literature searches, discoverability of published AAAR articles, citation visibility, and access to academic research information. AAAR provides a Google Scholar profile link through its official journal indexing information. Scholarly record matching, citation counts, article coverage, and profile updates are independently managed by Google Scholar and may change over time.

Dimensions: Dimensions provides research discovery, linked scholarly metadata, publication information, and citation-related analytics. AAAR identifies a Dimensions research-discovery link in its journal indexing information. The visibility and availability of individual AAAR records remain subject to Dimensions' own data collection, source classification, coverage, and update procedures. This discovery link does not independently establish formal inclusion in another selective citation database.

ROAD — Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources: ROAD supports the identification and discovery of open-access scholarly resources through the international ISSN information infrastructure. AAAR identifies ROAD among the services presented on its existing indexing page. Relevant open-access identification and service coverage should be interpreted according to the information confirmed through the ISSN Portal and the applicable ROAD record, rather than as evidence of selective citation indexing.

Relawan Jurnal Indonesia (RJI): AAAR also identifies Relawan Jurnal Indonesia among the scholarly services associated with its existing journal information. RJI supports professional development and collaboration within Indonesia's scholarly journal-publishing community. Any specific membership, partnership, registration, or institutional relationship must be described according to verifiable documentation and must not be treated as equivalent to national accreditation or selective journal indexing.

Coverage & Data Updates: Each external service independently determines its collection methods, record matching, citation information, journal classification, document coverage, and update frequency. Differences in record counts, citations, article coverage, or metadata between services do not necessarily indicate an error in the journal's authoritative published record.

DOI Registration & Journal Identification

Crossref — DOI Registration & Scholarly Metadata: AAAR uses DOI prefix 10.60079 for applicable published articles. Its article and issue records are identifiable through Crossref. DOI registration supports persistent scholarly identification, citation linking, bibliographic metadata registration, article discovery, and the continuity of published research records.

Crossref provides persistent-identifier and scholarly-metadata infrastructure. Its services support the identification and linking of published scholarly works but do not, by themselves, establish national journal accreditation or formal source-journal indexing in selective citation databases.

ISSN International Centre — International Journal Identification: The official journal title is Advances in Applied Accounting Research, abbreviated as AAAR, with E-ISSN 2985-8186. The journal is published online from Indonesia and has a confirmed international serial-identification record through the ISSN system.

ISSN identification establishes the bibliographic identity of AAAR as a serial publication. It is distinct from scholarly citation performance, journal-accreditation status, DOI registration, research-discovery coverage, or formal inclusion in selective indexing databases.

Identification & Metadata Integrity: AAAR seeks to maintain consistency between published article information, DOI-registration records, its official E-ISSN, journal-title metadata, author information, and other bibliographic details so that scholarly works can be identified, cited, and retrieved accurately.

Indexing Status Transparency

AAAR reports journal accreditation, identification, indexing, research discovery, citation visibility, DOI registration, professional recognition, and other scholarly information according to the actual and verifiable function of each relevant external service. The journal aims to avoid misleading equivalence between different forms of scholarly coverage or bibliographic recognition.

Formal Source-Journal Indexing: AAAR describes itself as formally indexed, abstracted, or covered by a selective database only when inclusion can be verified through that database's official journal, source, title, or coverage record. The scope and dates of confirmed coverage should be accurately represented where applicable.

Applications, proposed submissions, ongoing evaluations, initial registration, individual article discoverability, citation records, references from indexed publications, scholarly metadata presence, or unverified third-party statements do not constitute confirmation that AAAR is formally indexed as a source journal in a selective database.

AAAR does not claim confirmed source-journal indexing in Scopus, Web of Science, DOAJ, or another selective indexing or recognition service unless the corresponding inclusion and relevant coverage have been verified directly through the official service.

Scopus Citedness vs. Scopus Source Indexing: Individual AAAR articles may be cited in publications that are themselves indexed in Scopus. Such citedness can contribute to the scholarly visibility of AAAR research. However, citations appearing in Scopus-indexed publications do not establish that AAAR is indexed as a source journal in Scopus. Formal source coverage must be verified through the official Scopus Sources records.

Citation counts, database coverage, bibliometric indicators, and related scholarly metrics are dynamic and may change as external platforms update their records. A temporary citation count, discovery record, or article-level citation does not constitute a permanent journal-accreditation or formal indexing status.

Metadata Quality & Discoverability

AAAR seeks to maintain complete, accurate, consistent, transparent, and traceable scholarly metadata across its official Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, published articles, authoritative Versions of Record, DOI-registration records, and relevant scholarly indexing and discovery services.

Authorship & Institutional Metadata: Essential information includes accurate author names and author order, institutional affiliations, corresponding-author information, ORCID identifiers where applicable, and other appropriate authorship or contributor information necessary for reliable attribution and scholarly identification.

Article & Publication Metadata: Scholarly records should accurately identify article titles, abstracts, keywords, accepted manuscript types, publication language, actual publication dates, publication years, annual volumes, numbered issues, DOI information, applicable article identifiers, and other bibliographic details required for accurate discovery and citation.

Research & Rights Metadata: Where applicable, published metadata may include funding information, acknowledgements, CRediT contributions where reported, copyright information, Open Access license details, and other appropriate publication declarations required for transparent scholarly communication. Applicable licensing metadata should remain consistent with the license associated with each published AAAR Version of Record.

Version of Record Consistency: The official published Version of Record serves as the authoritative reference for article content and formal publication information. Essential bibliographic metadata should remain consistent with the published article, OJS article page, DOI-registration record, and other relevant scholarly systems.

External Metadata Differences: Third-party services may independently harvest, classify, transform, merge, match, or update bibliographic records. As a result, temporary differences may occur between AAAR's authoritative publication information and records maintained by external platforms. A difference in third-party records does not independently authorize changes to the journal's valid published scholarly record.

Where a material metadata discrepancy is identified, AAAR may initiate an appropriate correction through its editorial and technical procedures or request an update from the relevant external service when possible. Corrections should preserve the authenticity, traceability, and integrity of article records, DOI information, publication dates, and established scholarly citations.

Indexing Development

AAAR continues to strengthen its scholarly publishing practices, editorial governance, international academic participation, independent peer-review procedures, research-integrity safeguards, publication ethics, accurate DOI and metadata registration, responsible Open Access publishing, digital-preservation arrangements, and the discoverability of published accounting research.

The development of scholarly indexing and recognition is treated as an ongoing process of strengthening journal quality, transparency, discoverability, and compliance with relevant service requirements. Consideration of additional recognized indexing, abstracting, accreditation, or discovery services does not independently establish journal inclusion or coverage.

When AAAR obtains confirmed journal-level coverage, formal recognition, or an appropriately verified change in its status with an external service, the journal may update its public information to reflect the actual status, effective coverage, and relevant official record. Planned applications, preliminary evaluations, or anticipated recognition must not be presented as completed indexing achievements.

Current Framework & Historical Records

The current AAAR Indexing, Discovery & Recognition framework reflects the journal's presently stated scholarly-discovery, identification, metadata, citation-visibility, accreditation-verification, and indexing-transparency policies. Changes to these policies or the journal's scholarly-publishing practices should be applied prospectively, except where legitimate corrections are required to address an established error.

External scholarly services may retain historical descriptions, article records, journal classifications, disciplinary categories, publication-frequency information, indexing details, or other metadata that were created or harvested before a journal policy or publication arrangement was updated. Such records must be assessed according to their provenance, date, and actual bibliographic purpose.

Historical third-party descriptions do not automatically redefine the journal's current Aims & Scope, accepted manuscript types, publication-frequency policy, editorial governance, peer-review procedures, or other current requirements. Where an external description is materially inaccurate or obsolete, AAAR may request an appropriate update through the relevant service.

Scholarly Record Protection: Previously published articles, actual publication dates, annual volume and numbered-issue assignments, author information, DOI records, bibliographic metadata, and valid historical citations remain part of the journal's permanent scholarly record. Current indexing or metadata policies do not authorize retrospective renumbering, artificial date changes, or undocumented alterations of valid published information.
