Advances: Jurnal Ekonomi & Bisnis (AJEB) welcomes original and scholarly manuscripts that fall within the journal's Aims & Scope and comply with its editorial, ethical, methodological, and manuscript preparation requirements.
AJEB accepts manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia or English. Authors should use one language consistently throughout the manuscript and ensure that the writing is academically appropriate, clear, coherent, and suitable for scholarly publication.
Authors are strongly encouraged to read this page carefully before submission. Manuscripts that do not comply with AJEB's scope, formatting, ethical, or submission requirements may be returned for correction or declined during initial editorial screening.
- The manuscript must fall within AJEB's Aims & Scope.
- The manuscript may be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English and must use the selected language consistently.
- The submission must not have been previously published and must not be simultaneously submitted to another journal or publisher, except for materials legitimately derived from an academic thesis, institutional repository, author homepage, or other circumstances permitted by journal policy.
- Authors must prepare a blinded manuscript separately from the title page.
- The blinded manuscript must not contain author names, affiliations, email addresses, acknowledgments, or other information that directly identifies the authors.
- The title page should contain the article title, author names, affiliations, correspondence details, funding information, acknowledgments, conflict-of-interest declaration, author contributions, and Generative AI declaration where applicable.
- Manuscripts should be submitted in DOC or DOCX format, not PDF format, unless specifically requested by the Editorial Office.
- Authors should verify references, citations, tables, figures, declarations, supplementary materials, and other manuscript elements before submission.
- Duplicate or simultaneous submission constitutes a serious violation of publication ethics and may result in editorial action.
All manuscripts must be submitted through the AJEB Online Journal System (OJS). Authors should use their existing account or create a new account before beginning the submission process.
AJEB applies a double-anonymous peer-review process. Authors must therefore ensure that the manuscript file does not disclose author identity.
Authors are encouraged to use the official AJEB manuscript template and avoid creating unnecessary alternative formatting.
The abstract should not exceed 200 words and should provide a concise structured summary of the manuscript.
- Purpose — summarizes the research objectives, problem, and relevant hypotheses or research questions.
- Research Methodology — describes the research design, data collection, analytical approach, sample, context, variables, instruments, or other essential methodological characteristics.
- Results — summarizes the principal empirical, theoretical, methodological, or analytical findings.
- Research Limitations / Implications — identifies relevant limitations and explains theoretical, practical, managerial, or policy implications where applicable.

Research Papers may employ quantitative, qualitative, mixed-method, comparative, case-based, methodological, or other rigorous research designs appropriate to the research question and scholarly contribution. Literature Review Papers may include systematic, integrative, meta-analytic, bibliometric, or other rigorous review approaches. Conceptual Papers should provide clear theory-building, framework development, conceptual advancement, or policy- and practice-oriented scholarly contributions.
The Introduction should clearly identify the research problem, establish the scholarly context, explain why the topic is important, and state the objectives of the study.
Authors are encouraged to develop the Introduction through the following logical sequence:
- State of the art — present the current scholarly background and relevant context.
- Research gap — identify what remains insufficiently understood, unresolved, inconsistent, or underexplored.
- Novelty — explain what distinguishes the present study from previous research.
- Research questions and objectives — state the principal questions, objectives, or hypotheses arising from the identified gap.
- Research significance — explain why the problem matters, how prior scholars have addressed it, and how the present study contributes to the field.
The final part of the Introduction should briefly explain the purpose, methodological orientation, principal contribution, and organization of the article. Excessive subsection numbering within the Introduction should be avoided unless methodologically necessary.
The literature review should establish the theoretical and empirical foundation of the manuscript. It should not merely summarize prior studies but should critically evaluate, integrate, compare, and synthesize relevant scholarly literature.
Authors should organize the literature logically around theories, constructs, themes, relationships, debates, or research questions relevant to the study.

AJEB uses the American Psychological Association, 7th Edition (APA 7) citation and reference style.
- Single author: (Ward, 2012)
- Two authors: (Tirdasari & Dhewanto, 2012)
- Three or more authors: (Alias et al., 2016)
- Multiple sources: (Ward, 2012; Tirdasari & Dhewanto, 2012)
- Multiple works by the same author: (Common, 2004, 2017a)
- Works by the same author in the same year should use appropriate suffixes, for example 2017a and 2017b.
- Institutional sources may use a recognized acronym or shortened organizational name after appropriate introduction.
The methodology section should explain clearly how the research was designed and conducted and provide sufficient information for readers to assess the appropriateness, reliability, validity, credibility, or replicability of the study.
Depending on the research design, this section may address:
- Research design and methodological approach
- Research setting or context
- Target population and unit of analysis
- Sampling procedures and sample characteristics
- Data sources and data collection procedures
- Research instruments and measurement
- Validity and reliability procedures where applicable
- Analytical techniques
- Ethical considerations where applicable
Where copyrighted or restricted instruments are used, authors should state the relevant permission or licensing status. Where an instrument is in the public domain or permission is not required, this should be explained appropriately.
The Results section should present the findings clearly and systematically. Authors should report analyses appropriate to the research design and provide sufficient information for readers to understand how the findings were derived.
Relevant findings should be reported even when they do not support the proposed hypotheses or initial expectations.
The Discussion should interpret the findings rather than simply repeat them. Authors should relate the results to theory, previous research, relevant scholarly debates, and the stated research objectives and explain the broader theoretical, practical, managerial, social, or policy implications where applicable.
- Tables and figures should appear within the manuscript near the relevant discussion rather than being submitted only at the end.
- Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and separately, for example Table 1, Table 2 and Figure 1, Figure 2.
- Each table and figure should contain an informative title and appropriate source information where required.
- Figures should have sufficient resolution for publication quality; the existing AJEB guideline recommends at least 300 DPI.
- Tables and figures reproduced or adapted from copyrighted publications must have appropriate permission where required.
- Tables and illustrations should be clear, readable, and directly relevant to the manuscript.
The Conclusion should synthesize the principal findings and explain the significance of the study without merely reproducing the abstract or Results section.
Authors should discuss the contribution of the research and, where applicable, its theoretical, practical, managerial, social, or policy implications.
The conclusion should also identify important research limitations and may provide recommendations or future research directions arising from those limitations.
Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, organizations, technical assistance, or other contributions that supported the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship.

- Authors should prioritize current and relevant scholarly literature.
- The existing AJEB guideline recommends that journal references predominantly consist of scientific publications from approximately the most recent 7 years, except where older foundational or seminal sources are academically necessary.
- Reference entries should be arranged alphabetically.
- Every source cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and every reference-list entry should be cited in the manuscript.
- Authors are strongly encouraged to use a reference manager such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero.
- DOIs or stable URLs should be included where available and appropriate.
Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality, accuracy, integrity, and ethical compliance of their manuscript.
- Do not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to another journal.
- Do not fabricate, falsify, manipulate, or misrepresent data or results.
- Do not include fabricated citations or references.
- Obtain appropriate permissions for copyrighted material where required.
- Disclose relevant conflicts of interest and funding.
- Ensure that all listed authors satisfy legitimate authorship requirements.
- Disclose applicable use of Generative AI or AI-assisted technologies.
- Comply with ethical approval and informed-consent requirements where relevant to the research.
AJEB does not charge a submission fee or pre-review processing fee. The APC is applicable only after the manuscript has completed the required editorial and peer-review process and has received final acceptance.
